Me Myself & My Pen: Who I am as a Writer?: "As I ponder thinking about writing it gets my mind chased up wondering how i can put my ideas, my words, my thoughts all in a sheet of paper..."
Hello! I am so sorry it has taken me this long to respond to your wonerful writing! I promise my comments will come much more frequently from here on out :)
First of all, I want to thank you for agreeing to allow me to read your work. It is fantastic! You have a wonderful sense of rhythm in your writing (I can definitely see the musician side of you coming out in this particular art form). Also, you clearly have a mastery of a variety of types of writing including poetry, humor, and narrative and you integrate these diverse elements well in your posts. In the future, I would suggest reading your posts aloud- this may seem silly at first but it really does help! This is a specially valuable tool to make you aware of abrupt changes in sentence flow and of choosing the corect form of a word (for instance, selecting an adjective instead of a noun where necessary).
Sorry for the long post! I look forward to reading your next piece.

ps- you wake up early! Or is it staying up late?
Joel,
ReplyDeleteWhat's happening? You seem to have lost touch with your blog ... I don't even see the posts you propose to write in class.
I know you're working hard on your short story, and that you have a lot to work on lately, but this is still a priority (and part of your grade.)
See you tomorrow to talk more about what my poem does ... and how to write one like it.
Cheers
Ms. Rae
